Entry Requirements 1. Be at least 18 years of age.

2. Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) with 5.0 in each band.

3. Have Successfully completed a Year 12 or equivalent high school certificate in any discipline OR Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning) OR DIPLOMA OR ADVANCED DIPLOMA.

Detailed Overview

This qualification is designed for people who want to develop advanced knowledge and skills in organisational learning and capability development. Students will learn how to create, manage, and evaluate learning and development programs within an organisation.

People who complete this qualification may work in leadership and management roles where learning is used to improve organisational performance and staff capability. They may also take responsibility for managing teams and supervising the work of others.

This qualification may provide pathway opportunities into higher education courses such as a master’s degree, including a Master of Education or related programs.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, international students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or an equivalent English test result (completed within the last two years), with no band lower than 5.0.
  • Have completed:
    • Have completed a Year 12 or equivalent high school certificate OR
    • a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, OR
    • BSB80515 Graduate Certificate in Management (Learning), OR
    • a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification.

Students must also:

  • Complete a pre-enrolment Candidate Self-Assessment.
  • Attend a course entry interview to assess their suitability for the course.

Course Duration
  • Full-time study duration: One (1) year
  • Total duration: 52 weeks (including holidays)
  • Study period: 40 weeks

The course is delivered over 52 weeks, including holiday breaks. Students will study across four academic terms, with each term lasting 10 weeks.

Holiday periods include:

  • 2-week break between terms
  • 6-week holiday at the end of the year

Students will attend classes for 20 hours per week.

Classes include both practical and theoretical learning activities. Simulated workplace environments will also be used to help students develop practical skills and complete assessments.


Delivery Mode and location

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment, including simulated workplace activities.

There is no work placement requirement for this course. All training and assessments are completed in the classroom.

Career Outcomes

After completing this course, students may be able to work in leadership and management positions such as:

  • Director or Executive Officer
  • Senior Administrator
  • Senior Manager
  • RTO Manager
  • Training and Education Manager

Education Pathways

Students who complete this qualification may continue their studies in higher education programs, such as a master’s degree.


Course Progress

Students must:

  • Attend scheduled classes for 20 hours each week.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress according to Aboard Training’s Course Progress Policy.

Students who are at risk of not meeting course progress requirements will receive additional support and may be placed on an intervention strategy.

Enrolment and Orientation

After a student’s application is accepted, the college will send:

  • a Letter of Offer,
  • a Written Agreement, and
  • a Tax Invoice for prepaid fees.

Students should read all documents carefully before signing the agreement.

A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued after the signed documents are received.

Orientation is held on the first day of the course and includes information about:

  • the campus,
  • living in Australia,
  • student support services,
  • course expectations, and
  • course progress requirements.

Training Arrangements

Students are required to:

  • attend 20 hours of classes per week, and
  • complete approximately 10 hours of homework, assignments, projects, and self-study each week.

Students will receive their term timetable at least one week before classes begin.

Assessment methods may include:

  • Written tasks
  • Case studies
  • Projects
  • Presentations
  • Report writing
  • Observations
  • Research and analysis activities

At the start of each unit, trainers will explain:

  • assessment tasks,
  • due dates,
  • assessment conditions, and
  • grading requirements.

Assessments may be completed individually or in teams.


Course Fees

The fees for this course are:

  • Enrolment fee: AUD $250 (non-refundable and payable at the time of application)
  • Tuition fee: AUD $14,400

The tuition fee will not increase during the course duration. Other non-tuition fees may also apply.

International students must also arrange Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before arriving in Australia.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks and software if required.

Failure to pay course fees may result in cancellation of enrolment.

  • Publisher

Course Credit

Students may apply for:

  • Credit Transfer, or
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Applications can be made during enrolment or before starting the relevant unit.

For international students, approved course credit may reduce:

  • course duration, and
  • tuition fees.

If course credit is approved after the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) has been issued, a new CoE with the updated course duration will be provided.
